Maintenance Manager
Bern, Kansas
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for coordinating and directing the Maintenance and Logistics Shop activities for LANI. Responsible for maintaining production and quality by ensuring safe operation of machinery and mechanical equipment for the feed mill operations. Form, fabricate and assemble components for projects, repairs and modifications to machines, equipment and facilities to ensure reliable, consistent operation. Provide effective leadership to maximize production while maintaining an engaged workforce. Actively participate as a member of the Food Safety, Safety, and Plant Management Teams.
High school diploma/GED required. Two-year degree required. Technical certification preferred. Experience exceeding four years may be substituted on a year for year basis. Two to five years’ experience with feed mill, grain elevator, or industrial maintenance heavily preferred. Two years management experience, in the areas of managing people, coaching, counseling, leading, mentoring, training, and performance feedback. Ability to work independently, communication effectively, and work in team environment.

Maintenance Tech
(M-F 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
Bern, Kansas
The Maintenance Tech is responsible for maintaining production and quality by ensuring safe operation of machinery and mechanical equipment to the feel mill operations. Essential duties include maintaining equipment functional condition, recording service and repairs, fabricating repair parts, verifying equipment serviceability by conducting tests. Experience in feed mill or grain elevator is preferred Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals.

Mill Assistant
Days (5 a.m. – 5 p.m.) and Nights (5 p.m. – 5 a.m.)
Bern, Kansas
The Mill Assistant is responsible for assisting the Team Leader in managing the direct production of the feed mill operation to assure proper quantity, quality, and type of product are delivered to the customer. This includes the mixing and grinding of feed ingredient rations within the established operating procedures and FDA compliance policies. Two years prior experience working in a feed mill is preferred, but not required. Computer skills, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to multi-task. Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals.

Petfood Delivery Driver
Days (5 a.m. – 5 p.m.) Nights (5 p.m. – 5 a.m.)
Bern, Kansas
Perform all assigned duties necessary to safely obtain and ship quality products for LANI customers. Coordinate and direct the programs and functions in accordance with established Federal, State, and Local guidelines and company policies. Communicate with vendors or customers for the purpose of ensuring timely delivery of ingredients or flour. Maintain accurate truck logs daily. Oversee and maintain equipment records. Be aware and follow all DOT regulations. Regular attendance is required and is an essential function of the position. Valid CDL Class A license and medical card required. Adhere to DOT regulations. Clean driving record preferred. Ability to lift 50+ lbs.

Production Scheduler
Bern, Kansas
The Production Scheduler is responsible for planning and preparing production schedules for animal nutrition diets by drawing up a master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders. Duties include reviewing and distributing production work and shipment schedules; conferring with department supervisors to determine progress of work and completion dates; and compiling reports on progress work, inventory levels, costs, and production problems.
High school diploma/GED required. BS degree in Business Administration/Animal Science and Management. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or other related software. 2-5 years’ experience as a Planning and Production Manager. Background in animal nutrition or in a feed industry is preferred. Ability to work independently, communication effectively, and work in team environment.

Sanitation Assistant
(M-F 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
The Sanitation Assistant is responsible for sanitation, cleaning equipment, and assisting inventory of products. Performing sanitation requirements in accordance with regulatory and company needs. Clean, sweep, and blow down all necessary areas of the mill as needed daily. Scrap feed removal or disposal and manage trash compactors. High school diploma/GED required. Experience in feed mill or grain elevator maintenance is preferred. Food safety, sanitation, and/or housekeeping experience preferred. Ability to work independently, communication effectively, and work in team environment.

Warehouse Assistant
Days (6 a.m. – 6 p.m.)
Bern, Kansas
The Warehouse Tech is responsible for the pulling and staging of orders for delivery with extreme accuracy from our Bern, KS location. Unloading and loading inbound and outbound shipments. Ensuring specifications, quality and quantity of orders are correct. Provide support to the Warehouse Manager for ongoing projects and daily tasks. Prior experience working in shipping, receiving, and packaging is requested, but not required. Forklift certified is a plus.
